Bright Future Program (Programa Iluminando el Mañana)
I. Welcome
Scotiabank is characterized for being a financial institution concerned with the support of the communities around the 50 countries where we are present, in which we live and work.
When uniting the passion and shrewdness of our collaborators with the spirit of our communities, the Scotiabank Bright Future Program supports the development of opportunities for the children and the communities, in order to build a better future for all of us.
II. About the Program
At Scotiabank we know that the corporate social responsibility is not just a responsibility, but also an opportunity. There is nothing else more natural than to invest in those communities that invest also in us. The Scotiabank Bright Future Program is our international philanthropy and corporate communication program that supports the development of opportunities for the children and the communities where we live and we work.
Our capacity to reach our financial and business depends directly of the strength, satisfaction and commitment of our employees. Every year, the worldwide collaborators of Scotiabank donate more than 300.000 volunteer working hours to their communities. Building solid communities is important for us, and the Scotiabank Bright Future Program is an additional way for Scotiabank and their collaborators to work in behalf of a better future for everyone. When our customers select Scotiabank they know that they will receive the best in service, products and financial assistance, but, more than that, they are choosing to establish a relationship with a bank that is compromised with them and their community. The Scotiabank Bright Future Program offers us the opportunity to gain notoriety in the communities where we are, and as well as to establish relationships with this generation of customers, and the future ones.
The commitment of Scotiabank to support the communities where we live and we work, as it has permanently demonstrated through our decisions and actions, will open doors and generate opportunities. As an international bank, we acknowledge the deep implications of living in a increasingly interconnected world. We are aware that, in order to be successful, we must act in a socially responsible way. The Scotiabank Bright Future Program provides the Bank the opportunity of being considered a welcomed collaborator in those markets where we operate and in those where we wish to enter, when building a better future for all of us.
III: Experiences
The Scotiabank Bright Future Program offers to all the Scotiabank employees the opportunity to affect significantly the countries where we have presence, promoting the improvement of the society, generating happiness and health in the communities, uniting people to support positive causes and, in last instance, helping the children to grow and to be successful. Our commitment to repay the communities allows us to establish solid relations with our present clients and those of future generations. Here are some of the most recent experiences with the Scotiabank Bright Future Program:
“It is a pleasure to share my experience in CEYAC since it is rewarding to be able to help with just a few hours of your time to make the children happy. Each activity that took place at the school made me think of the great smile that it would put on each child when they would look at their clean facilities and their playground painted with bright colors. It takes just a little from us to make a lot for our neighbor, and I would like to invite all our collaborators to attend these activities since they are never enough hands TO HELP” Karla Daniela García Tello, Executive Unit Special Recovery
“I had never attended an activity of this type, I loved it! I felt a great satisfaction with the little grain of help I put. It is rewarding, but mainly it makes you aware to give thanks for everything you have and share it with others, I believe it helps”. Claudia Elías
“It is comforting to be able to grant a little our time in these activities. It allowed me to share it with my son, who also learned that working in an Institution such as Scotíabank is not only to attend its facilities, but that the Bank has also a social responsibility with the community in which it participates, to which is involved with the support of their employees”. Carlos Guerrero
“It was really beautiful experience. I went with my sons, and far from to think that they were going to be tired they were happy and liked a lot the activity. Due to our country situation it is very important to instill in our children the habit to help those in need, in order to improve their formation”. Josefina del Villar
“These events fill you up with a sense of great satisfaction, and help you acquiring a better social awareness”. Alejandro Rodriguez
“The activity started with a good team with the desire to participate and to spend a very good time with my little one, and to show once more that it doesn’t take a lot to be able to help and generate a lot of smiles. The kids were very helpful for our team, since they managed to paint in the reduced spaces and they were very happy sharing and helping. It is clear for me that we loved it and we will be again supporting this type of activities, as well as having a good time with our children. They felt part of the bank, for one day. Thanks”. Kenya Yerania Bonola Manrique
“Personally it leaves me with great satisfaction to be able collaborate with a little time and effort to an important cause that so often it is ignored by us all, all I am left with is the benefit to be invited to collaborate more actively in this type of activities that are so necessary for all, and that more and more people should be involved”. Montes de Oca
“My son and I felt very lucky of to have participated and shared our grain of sand to improve somehow the life of some children and their families. It is comforting to give a little of ourselves to others. It is a blessing to share our time and effort as a great team. Thanks for giving us the opportunity we are awaiting anxiously the next volunteering event”. Ivonne Martinez Angulo
“I believe that they are activities that help us to become better human beings. I feel that these activities give us the opportunity to integrate as employees and with our own families when the kids are involved. Listening to their comments and seeing how good they feel for things that no only benefit them but others makes you feel complete. We hope to keep supporting. Thank you very much”. Laura Miriam Blas Espinosa
“I’m interested to keep participating in these activities since, besides the fact that it leaves us with great satisfaction, there are many people who need our care and helping hand. `It has to born in us a loving and compassionate mind”. Victor Thorny Sanchez
